Slipper-shaped flowers

Discovered by Charles Darwin in his trip around South America, and these flowers unique looks almost like a little orange penguins walking on rocks. This is kind of cool climate, which probably will not thrive in warm climates.
Calceolaria Naflora (= C. darwinii) and distantly related Foxglove and Gesneriads. It is evergreen, and perennial species that make a small rosette-shaped leaves of the tongue. With the passage of time increases the factory to a small colony. Calceolaria genus name means "little shoe", referring to the slipper-shaped blooms. This unusual flowers appear throughout the summer. Blooms such as the bag is about 2 inches, and is suspended from the stems 4-5 inches tall. Have a white stripe across the "mouth" open, with burgundy marks above and below it. A native species of bird likes to eat the white part of the flower. This is a good thing, because how do you get to pollinate flowers!
Station comes from the southern tip of South America, and not far from Antarctica. Cold climate there throughout the year. I recommend growing it at temperatures between 30 and 70 or 75 degrees F (-1 ° C to 23), with a drop in temperatures at night. I have no information about how they will fare outside this temperature range. It grows well in a small bowl in the soil, rich and drain well, such as soil to half sand and half. Plants have shallow root system and should be kept from drying out. They prefer mostly sunny conditions, but to protect them from strong afternoon sun.
