News reports said Monday that an Indian man who had a record Guinness died while trying to cross the hanging of his braid in eastern India.

According to the online version of the magazine India today that the sailendra Nath Roy was cut halfway across the river teesta Sunday when his hair hung in wheel slip which was cord tied it and hanging in the air for more than half an hour.

It added that a 50-year-old told the frantic efforts to free himself but suffered a heart attack and died.

The Hindu newspaper said that hundreds of people had gathered near a bridge to watch the hanging of his braid Roy at a height of 21 metres and is trying to cross a distance of 183 meters.

Roy, who worked as a driver for the local police has earned the title of Guinness in 2011 for a 82.5 meters pending his braid wire sliding, and Roy with his braid to pull a train entertainment (taftav) weighed 42 tons in the town of Darjeeling to a distance of 2.5 m last year.
