Netanyahu: Israel wants a long-term solution to the Gaza crisis
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that Israel wants a diplomatic solution to the long-term to the Gaza crisis, but would not hesitate to escalate its military campaign if necessary.
He said after talks with Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon "if possible to reach a long-term solution through diplomatic means, Israel will be a responsive partner with such a solution."
"But if it proved necessary to take military action strong action to stop the continuous launching of rockets Israel will not hesitate to do what is necessary to defend our people."
