Intel unveils new generation of data movement technology Thunderbolt
Intel has unveiled a new generation of data movement technology Thunderbolt, a technology that doubles data throughput from the current speed of the current generation.
Intel said the new technique could transfer data at 10 Gbps, double the speed of the previous generation of Thunderbolt, estimated at only 10 Gigabit per second.
Thunderbolt is the fastest USB data transfer which is more prevalent in consumer electronic devices, especially the newer ones Technology USB 3.0 data transfer speed of up to 5 Gbps.
Intel said the new Thunderbolt will be available in 2014, the company launched the symbolic name "Falcon Ridge".
It will support the new generation of Thunderbolt transfer video files with resolution 4K, which opens the way for manufacturers of TVs, monitors that support the same resolution to provide their data transfer ports based on this technology.
Existing outlets will support a new generation of Thunderbolt cables and plug on the previous generation of technology.
The Thunderbolt did not reap the same attention on USB, push the USB development to try to access the data transfer speed of 10 Gbps and is the same relying on current speed data transfer technology developed by Intel.
