German study: chocolate reduces heart risk

Small doses of chocolate every day leading to reduced risk of heart attack or stroke by about 40%, this state-of-the-art study German as asciotid as saying. German researchers have pursued the case nearly 20,000 people over eight years by sending several questionnaires about their eating habits and exercise.

The researchers found that those who ate an average of six grams of chocolate per day, their risk of a heart attack or stroke less than 39%.

Previous studies have suggested that eating dark chocolate in small quantities can be good for man, but this is the first study of this size to track the effects of eating chocolate over a long period of time. Experts believe that a alflavonolz contained in chocolate are the cause, which also exist in vegetables and red wine, help the muscles in blood vessels widen, which leads to low blood pressure.

According to the lead author of the study, Brian boueiz, it is time to come up with recommendations should eat more chocolate, but "if people replaced the sugar or fast food rich in fat with a small piece of chocolate, it could help" reduce heart risk.

It should be noted that the sample that was monitored in the study not only to its members any previous heart problems, as they have similar habits in risk factors such as smoking and exercise, and convergence of their body sizes.

Since the study cost the German Government and the European Union, the monitor only people, not give them chocolate directly to test its effects, experts believe that there is a need for more research to determine the effect of candy on the body.
