Juice extracted from potatoes to treat acidity and gastric ulcer

A recent British study indicated that the juice extracted from potatoes can handle stomach ulcers.

The idea for a University of Manchester scientists that meals contain only potatoes one day.

This experience has led to the discovery of a key molecule can help in the treatment and prevention of bacteria in the stomach and cause ulcers and acidity. These bacteria can develop resistance to potato juice.

The scientists tested on different kinds of potatoes and reached the same conclusion.

Said Ian Roberts, Professor of Microbiology, school of life sciences, which this disclosure: "when I heard about the idea of using potatoes to treat stomach ulcers questioned some thing but not surprised, many plant products contain interesting and useful and we have only to discover".

He added: "this potato juice can be a preventive measure to stop infectious ulcers when they appear."

The Panel hopes to turn the component extracted from potato juice to a product that is consumed as a dietary supplement.
